행복한 사람
클론이 돌아왔다. 5년 전 교통 사고로 하반신을 쓰지 못하게 된 강원래. 그런 강원래의 곁에서 오랜 사랑을 지켜 온 김송. 다시 클론으로 돌아오기만을 기다린 구준엽.
언제였던가···. 강원래가 사고 후 자신의 심경을 쓴 글을 읽은 적이 있다. 언제까지나 저 하늘의 새처럼 자유로이 날 것만 같았던 자신이 몸조차도 제대로 가누지 못하고 절망에 빠졌을 때, 그런 그를 곁에서 묵묵히 지켜 보아 온 사람들에 대한 고마움, 그리고 그러한 사고를 계기로 자신이 잊고 살았던 것을 깨닫기 시작했다던 글.
그 동안 참 힘들었겠지. 인터넷 댓글을 따라 가다 보면 그런 시선을 느낄 수 있다. (강원래에게는) 교통 사고 후 거액의 보상금을 타고도 또 돈이 탐이 나냐는 비난도, 이제 그런 흉한 몰골은 보기 싫으니까 그만 들어갔으면 한다는 말도, (구준엽에게는) 영원히 둘이서 함께 할 것이라더니 왜 솔로로 독립했었냐는 비난도, (김송에게는) 돈이 탐이 나서 그런 사람과 결혼했냐는 소리도···. 하지만 세 사람은 이 모든 비난과 야유를 이겨 냈다. 강원래. 교통 사고로 허파에 구멍이 뚫렸단다. 그래서 보통 사람보다 폐활량도 모자란다고 한다. 하지만 다시 무대에 섰다. 무대를 통해 많은 사람들에게 희망의 빛이 되기 위해 섰다.
진정한 친구를 세 사람만이라도 얻을 수 있다면 그 사람의 인생은 성공한 것이라 한다. 강원래. 참 행복한 사람이다. 자신을 믿고 사랑해 주는 진정한 사랑과 죽을 때까지 함께 할 진정한 벗이 함께 하기에···.
클론의 복귀를 알리던 텔레비전 프로그램 앞에서 나는 눈가에 맺힌 눈물을 훔쳐야 했다.
